Project ProBLeMS: Workshop on Upgrading MCPB Module
GeneralThe University Hospital for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Medical University of Innsbruck, hosted a workshop as part of the Erasmus+ project "ProBLeMS".
The workshop, held from 18 to 22 March 2025, gathered the project partners. The University of Banja Luka was represented by Prof. Nenad Ponorac, PhD, Prof. Igor Sladojević, PhD, and Assist. Prof. Milkica Grabež, PhD.
The focus of the workshop was the enhancement of existing Metacognitive Problem-Based Modules (MCPB) through the integration of artificial intelligence in blended learning. This approach improves teaching methodologies by incorporating modern technological solutions, enabling medical students to more effectively connect conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive knowledge when solving real-life problems.
The "ProBLeMS" project, supported by several higher education institutions from the European Union, aims to develop and implement a new learning model, in order to enhance the education of physicians in higher education institutions in the Western Balkans, aligned with societal needs.
The project is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme and is coordinated by the University of East Sarajevo. Alongside the University of Banja Luka, project partners include the Medical University of Innsbruck, the University of Montenegro, the University of Pristina temporarily seated in Kosovska Mitrovica, the Association for Biomedical Informatics and Statistics of the Republic of Srpska, and the Institute for Public Health of Montenegro.
