Professors of the Faculty of Forestry visited Brno through Erasmus program

General

Professors of the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Banja Luka (ŠF UNIBL), Prof. Milan Mataruga, PhD; Prof. Branislav Cvjetković, PhD; and Prof. Dragan Čomić, PhD, participated in exchange of the academic staff within the Erasmus+ program, thus continuing the successful cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the Mendel University in Brno.

In the course of the visit, from 31 March to 5 April, our professors held lectures for students and colleagues from Mendel University, and there were also several meetings with representatives of the academic and economic sectors. They discussed the possibility of future scientific-research cooperation, as well as joint engagement in project activities.

The meetings also included visits to the Czech Institute of Forestry, the Association of Private Forest Owners of the Czech Republic, and talks with the representatives of the nursery garden “Lescus”. They talked about the bilateral cooperation with professors from the Mendel University, as well as about the upcoming visit of PhD students who will visit the Faculty of Forestry at UNIBL in June 2025. One of the key points of talks was the realization of the project “SCAN-Danube” that the Faculty of Forestry of the UNIBL implements with the partner organizations within the Interreg Danube program. Potential projects in the fields of seed production, nursery, economics, and organization in forestry were also considered.

Cooperation by means of the Erasmus+ program continues to strengthen ties between the Faculty of Forestry UNIBL and foreign partners, enabling a more intense scientific research activity and bigger possibilities for students and academic staff in the future.
