Establishing cooperation with the University of Tartu, Estonia
GeneralThe Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation of the University of Banja Luka, prof. Kristina Pantelić Babić, PhD, met with a professor and a Senate member at the University of Tartu, Estonia, Eiki Berg, PhD.
In a meeting held in the Rectorate, they discussed the possibilities of establishing an institutional cooperation between the two universities. Mutual visits of students and staff, with the aim of realizing short-term research projects in the field of political sciences, were proposed as first steps in cooperation.
Doctor Berg is a professor of international relations, while his research interest was directed to geopolitics in critical regions, with special emphasis on studying borders, territoriality and sovereignty.
The meeting was also attended by Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, Nina Sajić, PhD, and the Head of Office for International and Inter-University Cooperation, M.Sc. Đorđe Kenjalo.
The University of Tartu, established in 1632, is the oldest and the most prestigious higher education institution in Estonia. It comprises of four faculties: for Art and Humanities, Social Sciences, Medicine, and Natural Sciences and Mathematics. It has about 14.000 students, including a large number of foreign students. This institution is actively included in many international academic and students’ associations and exchange programs.
