The Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources at the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, attended the ceremonial reception in Belgrade on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska and the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of its first constitution.

The reception, titled Born for Eternity, was held at the Central Military Club of Serbia and organised by the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Serbia. The event was attended by the highest officials of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, dignitaries of the Serbian Orthodox Church, representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as numerous figures from the fields of culture, science, arts, business, and sports.

This year’s reception, held for the 11th time, was dedicated to two significant anniversaries – 850 years since the birth of Saint Sava and 805 years since the adoption of his Zakonopravilo, the first Serbian legal code written in the vernacular.

On this occasion, a short film was presented on the development of Serbian law, tracing its evolution from Saint Sava’s Zakonopravilo, through the Dušan Code and the Sretenje Constitution, to the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska, adopted on 28 February 1992.

The artistic part of programme featured performances by the Choir of the Children's Cultural Centre Belgrade, the Vuk Stanić quartet, and soprano Lidija Jelisić.

The reception served as an opportunity to reflect on the key events of January and February 1992, when the Republic of Srpska was constituted on 9 January, and its first constitution adopted on 28 February.
