A meeting was held within the ChemTeach project

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Banja Luka (PMF UNIBL) hosted a meeting on 11th and 12th February within the project “Enhancement of quality in teaching chemistry in vocational schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina” – ChemTeach.

The meeting was formally opened by Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD and Prof. Ivan Španik, PhD, followed by presenting activities realized in the first year of the project. Representatives of the Slovakian Technical University of Bratislava and all five secondary schools in the project, along with representatives of UNIBL, attended the meeting.

A training course for Chemistry teachers, aiming at improving teaching methods and applying innovative approaches in teaching, shall be organized within the project at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in June 2025.

The activities of ChemTeach shall continue in August at the PMF UNIBL with Summer School for pupils, dedicated to environmental chemistry. This School will gather pupils from Slovakia, Czech Republic, and three secondary schools from Banja Luka, availing them with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and experiences through practical work.

The project ChemTeach is realized within the Erasmus+ program, and its aim is an improvement of teaching methods in the field of chemistry through international cooperation, exchange of experiences, and contemporary teaching approaches. One of the significant results will be a Manual of experiments in green chemistry, along with a multimedia guide that will enable pupils an interactive and contemporary learning of this subject
