Rector Gajanin at the 270th anniversary of the Lomonosov University

The Rector of the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, participated in the formal commemoration of 270 years of the Moscow State University M. V. Lomonosov, on 25 January 2025. 

Rector Gajanin was invited to this event by the rector of the said university, Academician, Prof. Victor Antonovich Sadovnichy, PhD.

The event hosted a literary concert about the history of Moscow University, dedicated to the role of the University in forming and developing education, science, and culture in Russia. It also discussed significant events and persons related to the history of Lomonosov University.

Over 5000 students, teachers, former students, and friends of the Lomonosov University participated in a large manifestation dedicated to the anniversary of the largest Russian university. Rectors of 300 universities from more than 45 countries were invited to the anniversary of the Lomonosov, along with ambassadors and other diplomatic representatives.

The Lomonosov University was established by a Decree of Empress Elisabeth Petrovna in 1755, and it is the oldest classical university in Russia. Today, it is a leading education, scientific, and cultural center of Russia, with over 50.000 students from all over the world. The University of Lomonosov is a recognized leader among the Russian universities on international and domestic ranking lists of education institutions, and it comprises 40 faculties, three schools for gifted children, 40 research institutes and centers, and over 300 departments (cathedra). This university has ten branch locations, five of which are abroad.
