Participation in an event on open science in Vienna
GeneralRepresentatives of the University of Banja Luka participated in a two-day event dedicated to open science, held at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) on 16 and 17 January.
It was an event organized within the Horizon Evropa project „Bioeconomy Excellence Alliance for Stimulating Innovative and Inclusive Green Transition (BEAMING)” while the University of Banja Luka was represented by the Vice-Rector for Scientific-Research Activity and Development, Prof. Aleksandar Ostojić, PhD, and a Senior Assistant for Scientific-Research activity and Development, M.Sc. Dragana Radulović.
During the two days, participants had a chance to get acquainted with the key concepts in the area of open science, bioeconomy, and preparation & implementation of the European Commission-financed projects, through practical examples.
During the first day, there were lectures to the topic „Open scientific practices at the institute and cluster of excellence for circular bioengineering “, held by Prof. Chris Ostenbrink, and a lecture „Genome diversity in cattle breeding“, held by Prof. Gabor Mesaros. There was also an organized visit to the Fair of research data, which included a presentation of the current tools and projects dealing with managing research data in Austria.
Two workshops were held on the second day: „Initiating projects and preparing networks in projects financed by the EU“, prepared by Lada Fialova, and „Enabling intra and inter-university networks for researching and developing bioeconomy“, led by the Director of Centre for bioeconomy and a professor at BOKU university, Martin Grimel.
