Professors Marčeta and Petković visited the Mendel’s university
GeneralWithin the Credit exchange of the Erasmus+ project, Prof. Dane Marčeta, PhD, and Prof. Vladimir Petković, PhD, stayed in a six-day visit to the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Processing of the Mendel’s University in Brno.
During the visit at the end of November, professors Marčeta and Petković informed their colleagues in Brno with the activities that are conducted at the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Banja Luka. It was an opportunity to talk about additional cooperation between the two university institutions, and the Czech colleagues showed readiness for exchanging students and teachers, holding lectures, joint work in the final thesis and scientific-research activity.
Prof. Vladimir Petković, PhD, held a lecture to the students of the 1st and 2nd cycle to the topic „Planning forest paths“ and „Truck transportation of timber“, while Prof. Dane Marčeta, PhD, held a training in the field of forestry engineering.
The Head of Cathedra for engineering, Prof. Tomáš Zemánek, PhD introduced our professors to the University of Brno forestry company „The Masarik Forest“ (that produces specialized forestry machinery) and the management and technologies of wood usage in the forest complex run by the University in the place of Krština, near Brno. They also visited the laboratory for Ergonomics and talked to Prof. Eva Abramuzkinova, PhD, and Martin Rorih, about the experiences of lecturing and researching in this field.
