Project ENPOWER: A visit from the University of Macerata
University of Banja LukaGeneralAs a part of action pack one of the project „Enhancing Scientific Capacities for Energy Poverty (ENPOWER)“, a delegation of the University of Macerata from Italy visited the University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) on 18 November 2024.
The goal of this meeting, held in the premises of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry, was to have direct talks and discussions with the UNIBL leadership in charge of scientific and research activity and international cooperation, with scientists and researchers, and the members of the project team, to reflect on objective circumstances in the field of scientific-research work, difficulties encountered, as well as the possibility to strengthen our internal capacities and improvement of working conditions. The emphasis, in general, was put on raising the visibility and recognition of our University on a global scale.
The overall meeting was assessed as very successful and further steps and activities have been agreed.
Besides members of the project team from the University of Banja Luka and the Italian delegation, who are the partners in the project ENPOWER, the meeting was also attended by the vice-rectors, prof. Kristina Pantelic Babic, PhD and prof. Aleksandar Ostojic, PhD, the Chairman of the UNIBL Steering Board, prof. Biljana Antunovic, PhD, vice-deans for scientific-research activity at the faculties, and other colleagues from the University.
The team for the realization of the project, on behalf of the University of Banja Luka, comprised of professors and assistants from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (as project coordinator), the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, the Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Political Sciences. This project is financed through the program Horizon Europe, in the total amount of 1.498.443,34 EUR. Along with the University of Macerata, other partners in project implementation are the Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium, the University of Tilburg – The Netherlands, and the company „Sustainable Innovation Technology Services Limited” from Ireland.
