Prof. Latinović at the Conference in Lisbon

Full professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka Goran Latinović, PhD, participated in the scientific conference "Transitional Processes in Europe of the 20th Century. Achieving and Sustaining Democracy" held on 8 and 9 October 2024 at the National Archive of Torre do Tombo in Lisbon.

Altogether 25 scientists from 14 countries took part in the conference, and Professor Latinović represented the University of Banja Luka and the Republic of Srpska at the conference, with the presentation "The National Issue in Yugoslavia in the 20th Century. A Brief Overview of the Causes of Its Disintegration".

This conference, organized by the Spanish Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory in cooperation with the Agency for International Development  Cooperation, is part of the joint activities that Spain and Portugal commemorate 50 years since the military coup in Portugal, the transformation from an authoritarian to a democratic society and the beginning of dcolonization.

The National Archive of Torre do Tombo was established in 1378 and is one of Portugal’s oldest institutions.
