STEPGRAD International Conference

International Conference on Contemporary Theory and Practice in Construction – STEPGRAD was opened on 13 June 2024 in the building of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry.

This two-day conference organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy is held for the 16th time and it continues the tradition of connecting researchers, teachers and experts from all over the world, experts in construction, architecture, geodesy and related fields. The conference was opened by Assistant Minister for Scientific and Technological
Development of the Republic of Srpska Zoran Bjelajac. He stressed the significance of this international conference as it enables connection and interaction of young students and engineers with more experienced colleagues.

Assistant Minister for Civil Engineering of the Republic of Srpska Slobodan Šiljegović said that the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska supports all the planned activities and ideas that will be presented at this conference.

Deputy Director of the Conference Prof. Miroslav Malinović, PhD, said that year after year this conference makes progress in terms of the quality of authors and manuscripts and added that this year authors of manuscripts from 14 countries attended the conference.

"This year, out of 90 submitted manuscripts, 74 were accepted and categorized and will be published in the proceedings of manuscripts. These are manuscripts that provide an insight into current scientific and professional knowledge in computational mechanics, engineering constructions, building materials, roads, energy efficiency, urban planning, architecture, history of architecture, geodesy, engineer education, etc.”, Prof. Malinović said.

On behalf of the University of Banja Luka, President of the Steering Board Prof. Biljana Antunović, PhD, gave a speech, and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy Prof. Saša Čvoro, PhD, addressed the audience on behalf of the organizer.
