A Lecture on the Development of Sinology at the University of Banja Luka Held in Beijing

On 7 December 2023, at Beijing Language and Culture University, Head of the Sinology Study Programme at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka Asst. Prof. Ljiljana Stević, PhD, gave a lecture on the development of Sinology at our university.

During the lecture, Asst. Prof. Stević focused on the development of the Sinology Study Programme at the University of Banja Luka, as one of the newest study programmes in the region.

She stressed the interdisciplinary nature of the programme and comprehensive study about today's China and the importance of international and inter-university cooperation.

In addition, Asst. Prof. Stević talked about the development of Sinology in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina through the work of Confucius Institutes and a large number of Chinese language course students, as well as the improving relations with the People's Republic of China and the presence of Chinese companies and investments in BH. 

The lecture was attended by professors from the Beijing Language and Culture University, students from China, as well as foreign students, and a large number of participants followed the event via Zoom.
