The Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of our University have roots in the former Faculty of Engineering of Banja Luka, which was established on 24 November 1962. Back then, the People’s Committee of the Banja Luka District adopted a decision to establish the Faculty of Engineering with the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Chemical Processing of Wood. Unlike the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Chemical Processing of Wood started operating in 1963. The University of Banja Luka was founded in 1975, and the Faculty of Engineering was divided into two faculties – Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Technology.
