The Delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development Visited the Location of the Future Science and Technology Park

On 4 October 2023, the delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development from Saudi Arabia visited the location in the University Campus where the Science and Technology Park of the Republic of Srpska is to be constructed.

Together with Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs Prof. Milica Balaban, PhD, Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, Asst. Prof. Željko Budimir, PhD, and the director of the Science and Technology Park, the delegation visited the site and concluded that it is a very important project.

Recently, Rector Gajanin and Minister Budimir signed an agreement on establishment of the Science and Technology Park of the Republic of Srpska.

It is the first science and technology park in the Republic of Srpska, founded by the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the University of Banja Luka. The Government of the Republic of Srpska provided funds for the first period of construction works, and to begin with, the offices of the science and technology park will be in the new building of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Faculty of Forestry, within the University Campus. Its location is in the immediate vicinity of the future science and technology park facility, for which the technical documentation of the project is currently being prepared. As predicted, the foundation stone for the construction of the Science and Technology Park, with a total area of 7.5 thousand square metres, is planned to be laid in spring next year, and the planned deadline for the completion of the works is 24 months. The facility, which will be located in the University Campus, along with the necessary equipment and laboratory, is approximately valued at EUR 15 million.
