Meeting with the Delegation of Jiangsu University
GeneralThe main goal of the meeting of the delegations of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka and Jiangsu University from China, held on 16 October, is the implementation of a trilateral memorandum of understanding and cooperation, signed by the University of Banja Luka, Jiangsu University and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska, on the construction of the Demonstration Centre for China Agricultural Machinery at the Experimental and Educational Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture in Laktaši.
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Zlatan Kovačević, PhD, said that a working group consisting of representatives of the Faculty of Agriculture and Jiangsu University has been formed, which will be working on the implementation of cooperation in relation to certain points of the aforementioned agreement.
"It will be based primarily on the construction of the Demonstration Centre for China Agricultural Machinery, which will be done at the Experimental and Educational Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture in Aleksandrovac", Kovačević said, adding that the Chinese university should contribute to the digitization and automation of the this centre.
As he stated, during this meeting held at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka, joint consultation and realization of the symposium were discussed.
Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Aleksandar Ostojić, PhD, said that they have been cooperating with Jiangsu University since 2019. As he said, the trilateral agreement on establishment of the Demonstration Centre was signed in 2022.
Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska Goran Bursać said that this visit by the delegation from China shows the friendship of China towards the Republic of Srpska.
Jiangsu University was founded in 1902 and is located in the city of Jiangsu, and has 2,700 professors, teaching assistants and researchers, over 35,000 students in approximately 200 study programmes. The University is supported by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas, and the Jiangsu Provincial Government.
