University of Banja Luka Established Cooperation with the University of Medical Sciences of Havana

On 30 May 2023, Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and Rector of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana Prof. Mayrim Lago Cueia, PhD, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two higher education institutions.

By the memorandum signed in Havana cooperation is established in the area of additional professional development of academic staff. Moreover, this memorandum, signed for a period of five years, stipulates cooperation in the area of additional education of academic and professional staff in healthcare and related sciences. Likewise, the universities will jointly work on staff exchange and will cooperate in a number of other educational and scientific activities, alongside developing curricula for joint study programmes.

The University of Medical Sciences of Havana is the leading academic institution in the field of health care in Cuba, where 77,000 students study in 156 study programmes. In addition to the medical field, this public university comprises related faculties where biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics and other sciences are taught.

This memorandum was signed during the visit of Rector Gajanin and Vice-Rector for Material and Human Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, to Havana, where they are attending the celebration of the 295th anniversary of the University of Ḫavana. During this visit, Rector Gajanin plans to sign an agreement on cooperation with the University of Havana.
