Andrej Ševa the New President of the University of Banja Luka Students’ Parliament
University of Banja LukaGeneralStudent of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka Andrej Ševa is the new president of the Students’ Parliament of the University of Banja Luka – it was decided at the constitutional session of the Students’ Parliament held on 21 November 2022.
At the session held in the premises of the Rectorate, the students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Slavko Savić and Nikola Šobot were elected the vice-presidents of the University of Banja Luka Students’ Parliament.
The position of secretary has been entrusted to Božana Tintor, student of the Faculty of Political Science, while Anđela Arar from the Faculty of Medicine will be a student member of the Management Board in the forthcoming year. Members of the Senate have also been elected.
Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, congratulated the new leadership and members of the Students’ Parliament.
,,As always, the rector’s team and the management of the faculties will support the student representatives in all realistic requests they may haveˮ, Gajanin said.
He says that everyone's common goal is to improve study conditions and student standards at the University of Banja Luka.
,,Among other things, our regular and hard-working students of the first and second cycle of studies are exempted from paying tuition fees, and from this year accommodation is also free for all those students who use the accommodation service of the 'Nikola Tesla' Student Centre in Banja Luka", the rector stated. According to the rector, the goal is to improve the conditions of teaching, and to increase the share of the practical part of teaching for all students studying at the leading university in the Republic of Srpska, in order to improve their competences.
The new president, Andrej Ševa, thanked for the trust shown, and pointed out that the new leadership of the Students’ Parliament will make additional efforts to improve the student standard and study conditions at the University of Banja Luka.
,,In a certain way, we represent the voice of all students of the University, and we will try to meet the demands of student organizations in the best possible way.", Ševa said.
The former president of the University of Banja Luka Students’ Parliament, Radovan Jalić, thanked the rector's team and the relevant ministry for successful cooperation in all fields. He expressed the expectation that the new convocation of the Parliament will continue working successfully and introducing some new contents.
Elections for members of the Student Parliament and teaching-scientific / artistic councils of the faculty / Academy from among students were held on 6 December 2022 at all members of the University of Banja Luka.
