A Round Table on the Russian Language Held at the Faculty of Philology

The round table "Russian Language in the Education System of the Republic of Srpska: Status and Challenges", organized by the Department of Russian Studies and the Centre for Russian Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka, was held on 5 October 2021.

At the beginning of the Round Table, welcome speeches were given by: Prof. Biljana Babić, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Goran Latinović, PhD, Vice-Rector for Research and Development of the University of Banja Luka, Anastasia Gaydalenok, Cultural Attaché at the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mikhail Bondar, Head of the Russian Humanitarian Mission in the Balkans.

After the welcome speeches, the presentations were given by: Prof. Nenad Blagojević, PhD (University of Niš), Prof. Biljana Marić, PhD (University of Belgrade, Society for Slavic Studies of Serbia), Branimir Nešić, PhD (Russian Humanitarian Mission in the Balkans), Asst. Prof. Jelena Ginić, PhD (University of Belgrade), Sanja Milićević, MA, Senior Teaching Assistant (University of Banja Luka), Kristina Mataruga (Republic Pedagogical Institute), Galina Bokić (Svetozar Ćorović Secondary School Center, Ljubinje) and Radovan Vukadinović, (Jovan Dučić Secondary School Center, Kneževo).

After all the presentations, the participants of the Round Table and the present guests had a discussion. The conclusions of the Round Table will be submitted to the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska.

Representative of the Russian Embassy to BH, Anastasia Gaydalenok, presented gift packages with books to the Department of Russian Studies and the Centre for Russian Studies at the Faculty of Philology.
