Chinese Ambassador Gave a Lecture
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn 18 June 2021, the Ambassador of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ji Ping, gave an online lecture on the topic "100 Years Since the Founding of the Communist Party in China".
During the lecture organized by the Confucius Institute at University of Banja Luka, the ambassador pointed out that China today is a stable developing country with great economic growth, which nurtures traditional friendly relations with other countries.
The ambassador talked about the history of the Communist Party of China, which this year marks the 100th anniversary of its founding and which has been in power in the People's Republic of China since 1949. As he explained, during the rule of this party, more than 700 million people were freed from poverty. According to him, in that period, China turned from a poor country into a country with the fastest growing economy.
He also pointed out that the relations between China and the Republic of Srpska and BH are getting better and better. He said that the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the abolition of the visa regime constitute great progress in the relations between the two countries. He especially stressed the importance of diplomatic relations between China and the United States and China and Japan, which next year mark 50 years since the normalization of relations.
Ji said that in addition, the academic exchange and promotion of Chinese language and culture, which is conducted through the Confucius Institute at University of Banja Luka and the Department of Chinese Language at the Faculty of Philosophy at University of East Sarajevo, is a good example of China-BH friendship and cooperation.
This lecture, which was held through the Zoom platform, was of great interest to the academic community, students and the media.
