The Annual Exhibition of Architecture Students Opened
University of Banja LukaGeneralDean of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Saša Čvoro, PhD, opened on 24 December 2020 the virtual annual exhibition of works from the Architecture Study Programme.
The annual exhibition "Online" presents a kind of portfolio of architecture students in the academic year 2019-20, through which one may follow the work and development of students from the first to the fourth year of the first cycle of studies, up to the advanced training in the second cycle of academic studies.
„We had a completely virtual approach to the idea and intention to digitize this archive this year. This decision is due to the new epidemiological situation since the beginning of 2020, which has forced us into a new reality in which working conditions have been difficult for both professors and students, but which is the only certain option for now. On the other hand, it opened up other possibilities in working with students, as well as views on space and our approach to it.“, Dean Čvoro said.
The issue of digitalization of space has certainly been an open topic for the past two decades, and ths year has only accelerated the inevitable process of transition to new processes of thinking about space as well as where and when we build, and whether we create materially at all. Thus, a virtual exhibition of student works with the symbolic name "Online" and a symbolic location was created, which takes place in the virtual space of the new building of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy at the University of Banja Luka.
Online, you may „walk through” the hall of the faculty, which is intended for gatherings and holding of manifestations, in which posters of 25 subjects from the Architecture Study Programme have been displayed, which will further take you to individual student works.
This year, the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Banja Luka celebrates 24 years of existence. Up to date, 23 generations of architects have graduated from this faculty.
