Meeting of Rector Gajanin and Minister Udovičić: Gaining of New Knowledge and Qualifications for Students
University of Banja LukaGeneralRector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and the Minister of Youth and Sports in the Government of Serbia Vanja Udovičić talked on 12 November 2020 about project activities aimed at enabling students, youth and the entire sports system in the Republic of Srpska to improve and gain additional qualifications and knowledge.
Apart from Minister Udovičić, the meeting held at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the University of Banja Luka was attended by Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Srpska Sonja Davidović.
Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Srpska Sonja Davidović pointed out that in the forthcoming period, cooperation will be established between the Institute of Sports at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the University of Banja Luka and the Institute of Sports of Serbia in order to give students and athletes from the Republic of Srpska the opportunity to connect with their colleagues in Serbia.
,,We talked about projects relating to the youth and final year students of the University of Banja Luka, and the goal of these projects is professional development and gaining of additional qualifications and knowledge to make it easier for the youth to get a job’’, Davidović said after the meeting.
Minister Udovičić stated that the goal is to enable young people, but also the entire sports system to improve through direct projects and organization of gatherings, international tournaments, joint preparations and education, and to commonly find a way out of the crisis faced by the whole worlds, and enable athletes to achieve the best possible results on the international level.
,,We want to go ahead with specific projects that would enable not only students but also young people in the Republic of Srpska to create and strengthen their abilities through direct gatherings, gaining of new knowledge and exchange of experiences, and to express themselves internationally, but also create the future the way they want“, Minister Udovičić said.
Rector Gajanin expressed satisfaction with the project activities agreed, and stressed that the academic community is expected to work diligently on the project tasks.
,,These projects will ultimately improve our students’ competencies and their employment opportunities", Gajanin said.
According to the rector, the plan is to establish cooperation between the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the University of Banja Luka and the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Belgrade in the forthcoming period.
Representatives of the University of Banja Luka attended the meeting: Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development Prof. Goran Latinović, PhD, Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesić, PhD, Vice-Dean for Teaching at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Prof. Radenko Dobraš, PhD, Head of the Institute of Sports at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Prof. Aleksandar Kukić, PhD, Senior Expert Associate for Entrepreneurship Development at the Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Centre of the University of Banja Luka Predrag Govedarica, and President of the University of Banja Luka Students’ Parliament Nikola Bulović.
The delegation of Minister Udovičić included: Assistant Minister for Sports Darko Udovičić, Special Adviser to Minister Ivana Dukić, and Head of the Minister’s Cabinet Nemanja Slijepčević. Representatives of the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Srpska at this meeting were: Assistant Minister for Youth Branka Malešević, Assistant Minister for Sports Mario Đuran and Head of the Minister’s Cabinet Ratko Jokić. The meeting was also attended by the Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Banja Luka, Vesna Marinković.
