The Conference „Contemporary Migration Trends and Security Risks“ Held
University of Banja LukaGeneralThe conference titled „Contemporary Migration Trends and Security Risks“ was held on 25 December 2019 in the lecture hall at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Banja Luka.
The Geography Study Program at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Banja Luka and the RS Secretariat for Displaced Persons and Migrations of the Republic of Srpska Government organized this conference.
Head of the Department for Social Geography and Demography Prof. Drasko Marinkovic, PhD, addressed the participants at the beginning of the conference and shared information on the migration trends in our territory. The participants of the conference were also addressed by Head of Geography Study Program Prof. Aleksandra Petrasevic, PhD, and Director of RS Secretariat for Displaced Persons and Migrations of the Republic of Srpska Government Marko Acic, PhD, on behalf of the organizers.
The first presentation at the conference on „Migration Trends in the Republic of Serbia and the Environment“ was given by Professor Danica Santic, PhD, from the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade. Professor Mile Sikman, PhD, from the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka held the second presentation on „Migrations and Security“.
The presentations were followed by discussion and conclusions reached.
