Representatives of the University of Banja Luka at the Rectors’ Conference with the Partners of the IMA Endorsed Universities
University of Banja LukaGeneralVice Rector for Teaching and Student Issues of the University of Banja Luka Professor Strain Posavljak, PhD, and the IMA coordinator Professor Aleksandar Ostojic, PhD, took part in the Rectors’ Conference with the partners of the IMA Endorsed Universities, held on 28 and 29 November at Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
The first day of the Rectors’ Conference was dedicated to the international master study program Agrarian Management. Its philosophy, structure, perspectives, platform, shared goals, training and international accreditation were discussed. On the same day, foreign masters level students at the University of Applied Sciences prepared an international evening. Vice Rector Posavljak and Professor Ostojic had a chance to talk with students from BiH, Serbia and Montenegro, who together presented the culture and customs of their countries.
On the second day of the Rectors' Conference, six roundtable discussions were held to discuss agricultural research, food technology, climate change and its consequences, digitization, the future of agriculture and renewable energy. On the same day, rectors and vice rectors of all universities within the IMA network signed the Freising Declaration on Higher Education in Applied Life Sciences.
The IMA network is an international network of master studies in agricultural management. Apart from Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, the University of Banja Luka is part of the IMA network, as well as universities of Uzbekistan, Armenia, Paraguay, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia and Azerbaijan. Two universities from Ethiopia, Kazakhstan and Kenya are also part of the network, as well as four universities from Ukraine and six universities from Russia.
