Delegation of the Faculty of Agriculture Visited the University of Weihenstephan

The delegation of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka, led by the dean of the faculty Prof. Zlatan Kovacevic, PhD, stayed at the University of Weihenstaphan in Germany from 23 to 29 June 2019.

During the visit, the delegation of the Faculty of Agriculture visited the University of Weihenstaphan in Triesdorf and Freising.

The guests from the Faculty of Agriculture got acquainted with the organizational structure of the host university and the way in which teaching is conducted, and they visited some of the faculty sites and farms, where students had the chance to do their practice. Both universities have had a successful cooperation for several years, and in the last three years eight students from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Banja Luka had a one-semester practice, three students participated in a one-semester exchange within the first cycle study, while another three students spent their master studies in Triesdorf.

This cooperation resulted in the mobility of professors within the ERASMUS+ Programme and its KA1 components, during which in the last three years altogether 26 professors and assistants from Banja Luka went to the University in Triesdorf. Moreover, a project proposal was jointly prepared for the KA2 component of the ERASMUS+ Programme, which was submitted at this year’s call.

In Triesdorf, meetings were held with the coordinator of the international master program for the countries of South East Europe Prof. Johannes Holzner, PhD, relating to the accreditation of the joint master program for agro management. In Freising, a meeting was held with the Vice President for International Cooperation Prof.  Carsten Lorz, PhD, and an agreement was made to advance the cooperation of the two universities through joint scientific research projects and participation in scientic conferences organized by partner universities.

The delegation of the Faculty of Agriculture that visited Germany consisted also of Vice Dean for Teaching Prof. Djordje Savic, PhD, Vice Dean for Scientific Research and International Cooperation Prof. Zeljko Vasko, PhD, and professors: Prof. Miljan Cvetkovic, PhD, Prof. Tatjana Jovanovic Cvetkovic, PhD, and Dragan Brkovic, MA.
