Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the University of Banja Luka and UNICEF
University of Banja LukaGeneralRector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, and the UNICEF representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Geeta Narayan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 10 June 2019, with the view to promoting and implementing the rights of children.
Rector Gajanin emphasizes that this Memorandum envisages the share of information and organization of different workshops relating to the implementation of child rights.
„A special aspect of the Memorandum is dedicated to inclusive teaching for students with special needs. The University of Banja Luka is committed to carrying out all the activities laid down in the Memorandum“, Rector Gajanin said and stressed that the University of Banja Luka pays special attention to students with special needs, as well as that within the University there is a University center that assist students with special needs.
„In the past period, the University has adjusted the teaching to persons with special needs," the Rector said and emphasized that this process will be even more successful through the cooperation with UNICEF.
Geeta Narayan pointed out that UNICEF is privileged and honoured to cooperate with the University of Banja Luka.
„The first specific activity to be undertaken is organizing a workshop, planned for October. This workshop will focus on inclusive teaching and learning, and it will be carried out with the professors and students of the University", Ms Narayan said and emphasized that the University of Banja Luka has done an excellent job regarding the process of including students with special needs in the teaching process.
The signing was also attended by Vice Rector for International and Interuniversity Cooperation Prof. Biljana Antunovic, PhD, Vice Rector for Teaching and Student Issues Prof. Strain Posavljak, PhD, and the Secretary General Djordje Markez, MA.
