The University of Banja Luka has been successfully reaccredited
University of Banja LukaGeneralProf. Dr. Radoslav Gajanin, Rector of the University of Banja Luka, confirmed at the press conference held on April 2, 2019 in the premises of the Rectorate, that the reaccreditation process of the University of Banja Luka has been successfully finalized, as well as the accreditation of 16 study programs at the first cycle of studies.
Gajanin said that the University received a resolution on the reaccreditation last week from the Agency for Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Srpska, with a 5-year validity.
“The University meets all quality standards in the field of higher education, but also the standards and guidelines for quality assurance within the unique European area of higher education”, said Rector Gajanin.
He said that the University received recommendations for improvement, and added that the University will be committed to improving all areas of education at all study programs.
“The full process of reaccreditation of the University of Banja Luka and the accreditation of study programs lasted less than two years and resulted in a solution that confirms the University of Banja Luka’s eligibility to meet all the criteria, standards and norms in the field of higher education”, said Rector Gajanin and pointed out that the University carried out all the required activities related to this matter on time.
He expressed satisfaction with elimination of all technical problems raised during the process of reaccreditation and accreditation of higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed hope that such things will not occur the future.
Gajanin emphasized that the students of this University have no reason to be concerned about the validity of their diplomas.
Prof. Dr. Strain Posavljak, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Issues at the University of Banja Luka, said that the External Evaluation Committee evaluated the University by the 10 quality assessment criteria, having the University fully fulfill 7 of them, while the remaining 3 criteria were mostly fulfilled.
Regarding the fulfillment of the requirements for 16 study programs, Posavljak stated that the University of Banja Luka has 12 study programs who fully fulfill the quality assessment criteria, while the remaining 4 mostly fulfill the criteria.
Let us recall that the External Evaluation Commission appointed by the Agency for Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Srpska conducted an external evaluation of UBL in the process of reaccreditation of higher education institution. At the same time, external evaluation of the 16 study programs of the University that are in the process of accreditation was carried out.
The Commission of national and international experts who visited the University of Banja Luka had the opportunity to be reassured of the commitment of the University and its study programs when it comes to continuing improvement of the quality control.
Hence, the University of Banja Luka is the first university in Bosnia and Herzegovina that entered the process of accreditation of 16 study programs on December 27, 2017. After that, in April 2018, the University entered the process of reaccreditation of the University as an institution.
