Forensic Practicum commenced work

Forensic practicum at the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka has been ongoing since 2015, and there has always been a great interest among students.
This year was nearly a four times bigger interest among students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka when they applied for the selection process for the practicum. The committee had the task of selecting the best out of 60 applicants. Thus, during this school year, 20 students with the highest GPA in courses at the Department of Criminal Justice were selected.
The Forensic practicum is a legal education program that provides direct practical experience for students, and it has certain specificities that are primarily reflected in the realization method.
Students enrolled at the practicum have the opportunity to get acquainted directly with the cases of completed criminal investigations of certain crimes, take individual actions in the laboratory, and attend the investigation of certain investigative actions. Within the practicum, we are planning a visit to the state authorities responsible for the detection and prosecution of perpetrators of crimes, such as the police, the prosecutor’s office and the court.
The lecturers are prominent practitioners, judges, prosecutors and police officers with many years of experience in performing various tasks. Team leaders are academician Prof. Dr. Miodrag Simović and associate professor Dr. Mile Šikman.
