Internship opportunity for 24 students of the University of Banja Luka
University of Banja LukaGeneralProfessor Radoslav Gajanin, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Banja Luka, and Igor Radojičić, MA, Mayor of Banja Luka, signed a Student Internship Protocol on February 20, 2019, allowing 24 students in their final year of study to gain professional skills through internship.
The Protocol was signed at the premises of the Rectorate, and is only applicable to students who are currently enrolled in the final year of their studies at University of Banja Luka. The internships will be carried out at the City Hall, public institutions and enterprises of the City.
Professor Radoslav Gajanin, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Banja Luka, stated that 24 students from six faculties of the University will be selected for the said internship.
“Last year our best students gained professional skills at the City Hall and enterprises of the City. The idea is to focus more on applied education”, said Gajanin, adding that the students who were selected last year had the chance to present gained skills and promote institutions that they were doing internship in.
The Rector said that the City of Banja Luka relies on resources of the University, its teaching staff and associates who are fully engaged in projects conducted on the City level.
Igor Radojičić, MA, Mayor of Banja Luka, mentioned that this is the second year that the University and the City Hall are signing such Protocol, confirming the positive outcome of the last year’s internship.
“Last year we launched a program that enables students of certain faculties to acquire a certain work experience in the City Hall, its institutions and companies. Each new school year we identify required capacity and opportunities, and this year the opportunity for an internship will get students from six different faculties", said Radojičić, and added that the University will conduct the entire selection procedure and that the City will establish conditions needed for the selected students to do an internship.
As mentioned in the Protocol, three students from the Faculty of Law will do an internship at the City Hall, and one will do an internship at the Sport Center “Borik”.
Eight students from the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, one student majoring in Agrarian Economy from the Faculty of Agriculture, and one student majoring in Food Engineering from the Faculty of Technology, will also do an internship at the City Hall.
Nine students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport will also be selected to do an internship. Five of them will do an internship at the Sport Center “Borik”, and four of them at “Aquana” public company. The Faculty of Economics will also have one student doing an internship at the Student Center “Borik”.
The signing of the Protocol was also attended by professor Luka Kecman, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Human and Material resources, and Duško Lazić, a Financial Director of the University of Banja Luka.
