56th anniversary of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn 23 November 2018, an observance was held on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Banja Luka.
Prof. Luka Kecman, PhD, Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources, said that the management of the University would continue supporting respective organisational units in their educational and research activities.
Prof. Branko Blanusa, PhD, Dean of the Faculty, informed the present on the projects realised and activities conducted in the previous period, saying that graduates from this institution had little trouble finding a job, which makes it interesting to new generations of students.
In addition, Prof. Blanusa stressed out the involvement of members of staff in numerous international and national research and professional projects, as well as a steady increase of papers published in indexed journals.
Mr Sinisa Marcic, PhD, Assistant Minister of Science and Technology of the Republic of Srpska, pointed out the significance of the results the Faculty had achieved in the past, saying that the Ministry was dedicated to improving conditions for scientific research at all times.
At the observance, the Grammar School of Banja Luka and the Secondary Vocational School of Electrical Engineering of Banja Luka were handed certificates for extraordinary contribution to the Faculty, whereas the plaques honouring the same achievement were handed to Prof. Zoran Jovanovic, PhD, of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Prof. Milorad Bozic, PhD, Prof. Ratko Dejanovic, PhD, and Prof. Slavko Maric, PhD, all coming from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Banja Luka.
Futhermore, the prizes provided by the respective companies of Lanaco, Mtel, Bravo Systems, RT-RK, Elektrokrajina, Elnos Group, and Association of Energy Engineers of the Republic of Srpska were awarded to the best students of generation.
The event was also attended by other representatives of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, deans of the faculties of the University of Banja Luka, representatives of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the respective universities of Belgrade and Istocno Sarajevo, students of the Faculty, as well as by numerous public figures.
Degree awarding ceremony
On 22 November 2018, within the scope of activities marking the 56th anniversary of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, degrees were awarded to BS and MS graduates.
