Memorandum of Understanding with the Banja Luka Business Club

On 9 October 2018, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, Rector of the University of Banja Luka, and Mr Branko Kecman, Chairman of the Steering Board of the Banja Luka Business Club, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. 

On this occasion, Prof. Gajanin said that one of strategic goals of the University was improving practical work at each study programme, which can be achieved through signing contracts with relevant companies. 

‘This Memorandum is going to enable our students access to practical work, with a view to equipping them with necessary skills required by their future professional positions’, added Prof. Gajanin, expressing his expectations at high interest of both students and companies for this programme. 

Prof. Gajanin stressed out the fact that this Memorandum had been signed to the mutual benefits of both parties, with students being provided with an opportunity to present their skills to future employers, and reminded the present of the fact that this kind of cooperation had already been established with the Banja Luka City Administration. 
Mr Branko Kecman, Chairman of the Banja Luka Business Club, highlighted the significance of this Memorandum for strengthening the cooperation with scholarly institutions, the University of Banja Luka in particular, and providing the members of the Club with an opportunity to prepare students for future challenges. 

‘All our members, 53 private companies from the region of Banja Luka at the moment, aim at reaching agreement with final-year students doing practical work in their companies on subsequent employment’, pointed out Mr Kecman, announcing further steps into concretising the items from the Memorandum with respective faculties in the following days 

‘This cooperation is going to take place in the form of practical work of students in member companies, of the representatives of member companies giving lectures to students, as well as of providing employment to students upon their graduation’, said Mr Kecman. 

The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Strain Posavljak, PhD, Vice-Rector for Education and Students’ Affairs, and Prof. Biljana Antunovic, PhD, Vice-Rector for International and Inter-University Cooperation.
