Agreement on long-term cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and the Academy of Arts and Sciences of the Republic of Srpska
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn 26 October 2018, Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, Rector of the University of Banja Luka, and Prof. Rajko Kuzmanovic, PhD, academician, Chairman of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of the Republic of Srpska, signed the Agreement on Long-Term Cooperation between the two institutions.
This Agreement encompasses joint activities regarding organising scientific research projects and academic events of significance for the Republic of Srpska both in the country and abroad.
Upon signing the Agreement, Prof. Gajanin pointed out that it enabled cooperation between these institutions in all fields, and said that he felt satisfaction at the fact that this cooperation was now made official, with a long-term commitment.
Prof. Kuzmanovic added that the Agreement would provide new perspectives in the field of scientific research, given the fact that technical and technological development had already reached the level which rendered any one institution incapable of coping with it on its own, without help of similar institutions in the field.
He also stated the fact that there were enormous EU funds for supporting research programmes, but that there was no institution in the region of former Yugoslavia that could single-handedly meet the requirements for grants from these programmes
In addition to research projects and academic events, the Signatories are going to cooperate in terms of publishing activities – textbooks, professional books, and monographs in the field of education, science, and art.
The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Luka Kecman, PhD, Vice-Rector for Human and Material Resources, Prof. Goran Latinovic, PhD, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development, Mr Djordje Markez, MA, Secretary General of the University, and Mr Dusko Lazic, Financial Director of the University of Banja Luka.
