Latest achievements presented at the workshop organized at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
University of Banja LukaGeneralThe ’Next Generation Communication Technologies and Services’ workshop, held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering on 2-3 July 2018, gathered renowned lecturers from different fields of communication technologies and systems of new generation.
In her welcoming address, Prof. Gordana Gardasevic, PhD, organizer of the event and Vice-Dean for Scientific Research of the Faculty, emphasized the importance of research in the aforementioned field, which lays foundations for the overall development of telecommunication sector.
The event was also attended by Prof. Goran Latinovic, PhD, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development of the University of Banja Luka, who added that, given the global importance of the field, steps needed to be taken in order for the overall technological development of the region of former Yugoslavia.
Among the achievements presented at the event, one can single out innovative methods and applications of digital signal processing, security and reliability in information transfer, the Internet of Things, networking, highlights in autonomous vehicle industry, and alike.
Within the course of events during the workshop, a panel session gathering the representatives of academia and companies operating in the field (Tele Group, M:tel, Prointer, Lanaco) was held, with a view to analyzing joint projects, establishing long-term cooperation, and exploring possibilities of developing the industry of innovative technologies such as the Internet of Things.
The second day of the workshop saw presentations of projects and results of young researchers and PhD candidates, as well as presentations of the aforementioned companies and their activities in the field.
The organizer of the event was the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, with the IEEE – Bosnia and Herzegovina section and IEEE Communication Society – Serbia and Montenegro Chapter as co-organizers.
