Signing of Agreement on cooperation with the Volga State University of Technology in Russia
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn May 12, 2017, Prof. Milan Mataruga, PhD, and Prof. Victor Shebashev, PhD, the rectors of the University of Banja Luka and the Volga State University of Technology (Russia) respectively, signed the agreement on cooperation between these two institutions.
The agreement is designed to enable the exchange of students and staff, establishing of cooperation in scholarly projects, and transfer of technologies and innovative ideas into economy, with special emphasis on spin-off businesses functioning under the auspices of university departments.
Upon the signing ceremony, Prof. Mataruga made a presentation of the University of Banja Luka, informing the audience on its development path, pointing out the international projects the University had participated in.
In addition, this visit to the Volga State University of Technology , widely known as the VolgaTech, during which Prof. Mataruga was accompanied by Prof. Ratko Ristic, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade (Serbia), was used to take a tour of several centres and institutes operating in the field of forestry, as well as of a spin-off business.
The scientific conference the VolgaTech is organizing next year is going to be an opportunity for students of the University of Banja Luka to present their papers, while the students from their Russian counterpart are going to participate at the Students encountering science conference in Banja Luka later this year.
