The Faculty of Law celebrate 42 years from establishing
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn 6 February 2017, at the ceremony held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka, two important anniversaries were marked: 42 years of successful work of the Faculty and 57 years from beginning of stady and research of law sciences in Banja Luka. At the ceremony, attended by numerous guests, friends and associates, the new generation of LL. B. and LL. M. was promoted.
On that occasion, the acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Petar Kunić, said that nowadays, it is law graduates that are asked to provide solutions to complex social issues. He reminded that the total number of 26,000 students enrolled had enrolled the Faculty so far, and that every sixth of them managed to finish their studies. Prof. Kunić added that one of the aims of the Faculty should also be to encourage not just the educational scope of activities, but also the scientific one.
The Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Milan Mataruga addressed the guests and pointed out the importance of the role of the Faculty for University development. He said that the current problems in the functioning of the judicial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina imposed the necessity for greater engagement of the Faculty regarding these issues.
Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University in Tuzla, Prof. Izudin Hasanović, expressed his gratitude to the colleagues from Banja Luka for all the assistance they provided to the Faculty in Tuzla, and hope that the cooperation would continue in future through joint projects at regional level.
Finally, Prof. Kunić awarded the plaque to the best student, Aleksandar Forca, for the results achieved during his studies.
