13th International Conference of Lawyers "October Law Days"

Organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Banja Luka and the Association of Lawyers of the Republic of Srpska, on October 7th/8th, 2016 was held the 13th International Conference of Lawyers “October Legal Days”.
The theme of the Conference was: Construction and operation of the Law system, organized at the Faculty of Law. The Conference gathered, as in previous years, hundreds of law experts from the Republic of Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Austria, France, Hungary and Montenegro.
At this year's meeting, 90 reports were presented. The meeting was opened by the President of the Association of Lawyers of the Republic of Srpska, Prof. Dr. Rajko Kuzmanovic, recalling that The Conference gathered more than 10 thousand law professionals in the past 13 years, and during that time more than 1,000 papers were presented and published in the Journal of the Association of Lawyers of the Republic of Srpska, in 48 volumes, and more than 20 thousand pages of text.
On behalf of the Faculty of Law, the dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr Petar Kunic welcomed the participants and wished them successful work. Having delivered their opening words to the Conference, participants continued their work through plenary debates and department, where were discussed the most current topics concerning about public law, administrative law, labor law, civil law, commercial law, international law and substantive law and criminal law.
On the first day of the Conference, the lawyers held a particular Law Class, dedicated to life and work of Prof. Dr Gasa Mijanovic, a Professor of Law at University of East Sarajevo, a judge and President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Srpska.
The Conference was finished with dividing the certificates and presentation of recommendations and conclusions. It was also noted that, when it comes to the place and role of the Republic of Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are many procedures that should be more intense as the realization, protection and defense of constitutionally established institutional relations, analyzing the effects of transferred jurisdiction and preventing any further attempts to change, degradation and deformation of these relations contrary to the constitutionally procedures.
Co-organizers of the 13th International Conference “October Law Days” were the Chamber of Advocates of Republic of Srpska, the Notary Chamber or the Republic of Srpska, the Center for Education of Judges and Prosecutors of Republic of Srpska and the Law Faculty of the University of East Sarajevo. The main sponsor of the Conference was the Government of the Republic of Srpska and a media sponsor was RTRS.
