‘’Days of Vlado S. Milošević 2016’’
University of Banja LukaGeneralFor the seventeenth time in a row, the cultural event "Days of Vlado S. Milosevic ", traditionally organized by the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka, in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Musicological Society, is going to be held from 10 to 28 April, and it was announced at a press conference organized on that occasion at the Academy.
The Dean of the Academy of Arts, Prof. Dr. Luka Kecman and professors Snežana Popović- Vuleta, Sanda Dodik, Branka Radošević- Mitrović, and Saša Pavlović, who is also the President of the Musicological Society of the Republic of Sprska, talked about the event programme.
On this year's event, over 30 different programs will be presented, from the traditional international conference "Days of Vlado S. Milošević " through workshops, promotions of books and movies, to many concerts.
The mentioned Scientific Conference is going to be held on 15 and 16 April, and will bring together more than 80 eminent participants from the Republic of Srpska and the region. The Conference will take place through the sections in the field of musicology, ethnomusicology, music pedagogy and music theory, while the plenary address will be given by the famous musicologist from Belgrade, Ms. Nadežda Masusova.
Among the numerous musical agendas, in which the audience will be able to enjoy in the following days, is the concert ‘’Musical Romance’’ by the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Arts, where the pieces by Korsakov, Grieg, Dvorak and Saint-Saens will be performed, with a performance by violin soloists Sonja Vojvodić and Milan Smiljević, then the Evening of Choral Music under the baton of Mr. Nemanja Savić, where he will present the Mixed Choir of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka and the Serbian Singing Society "Jedinstvo", as well as the Evening of Baroque Music.
Special attention deserves the ' Partiture iz paučine/ Scores for Cobwebs, " representing the revitalization of pieces by Vlado S. Milosević. As pointed out by the organizers, the programme during which the professors of the Academy will premiere nine instrumental compositions, was preceded by a very demanding job, that is, transcribing and retyping the manuscript pieces of Vlado Milošević, which are now in the Museum of the Republic of Srpska and represent a true national treasure.
The event will be enriched with a series of concerts of students from different departments of the Academy of Arts, such as the concert of the Piano Department or the Wind Instruments Department, and ,on April 16 , the students of instrumental studies program, solo singing and chamber music will present themselves at a joint concert in the Banski Dvor concert hall.
One of the agendas is the concert "Tradition on the scene" where numerous singing and dancing folk groups and ensembles, as well as vocal soloists from the Republic of Srpska and Republic of Serbia will participate, in addition to students of the Department of Ethnomusicology of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka.
Part of the event is hosting artists from the region, mainly from Serbia, Slovenia and Croatia, and a special attention will be drawn to a guest from Japan, Mr. Ono Kaisi, who will perform music on the shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument.
As pointed out by the organizer, this year two novelties are going to be introduced. One of them is the so-called "Animacikl". It will promote admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art, especially in the Department of Animation, by the specific bike that will move from the university campus to the Museum of Contemporary Art. On its way to the Museum, "Animacikl" will stop at couple points where short films will be shown and promotional material will be given.
Another novelty is the projection of the documentary film "Meet the Patels," with hosting authors from the United States, that is, holding the workshop and discussion about the movie.
On this year's event, two books will be presented, such as "Dialogue of Archaic and Contemporary in the Cycle of Ljubica Marić’s Music of Octoechos " by Dr. Sanda Dodik , and "Prolongation and Structural Levels in Post Tonal Music" by Miloš Zatkalik and Verica Mihajlović.
The programme of the event is going to be held in the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka, Cultural Center "Banski Dvor", the Jewish Cultural Center "Arie Livne", the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska, the Youth Centre and in the streets of the city.
