Academician Jan Pettersson from Sweeden visited the University of Banjaluka

Within his two-day visit to the Republic of Srpska, academician Jan Pettersson, a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, and professor emeritus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences of Uppsala, visited of the University of Banja Luka.



On 21 October 2014, academician Pettersson delivered a lecture on the organization of and experiences from the doctoral studies in his home country to the MA and PhD students of the Faculty of Agriculture, their professors and teaching assistants, as well as to the scholars employed at the Insitute for Genetic Resources of the University of Banja Luka.

On the previous day, the honoured guest visited the Academy of Science and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, where he gave a speech on the Swedish experiences in the organization, modus operandi, structure and objectives of academies of science, as well as on some of the experiences from the field of higher education in that country. Apart from the members of the Academy, the event was attended by the representatives of academic community of the Republic of Srpska, as well as the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and ministries of the Government of the Republic of Srpska.
