Activities regarding the BIHERIT Tempus project implementation
University of Banja LukaGeneralDepartment of History, the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Banja Luka was a host to the partners of the BIHERIT Tempus project on 27 and 28 February 2014. The BIHERIT Tempus project stands for “Curricular reform of heritage sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
On 27 February 2014, the Faculty of Philosophy hosted a workshop for professionals working in the culture and cultural heritage sector. The workshop introduced and presented some working methods, projects, study programmes, results and experiences from the field of cultural heritage. Prof. Drago Brankovic, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, addressed the participants of the workshop.
The third meeting of the Consortium of the aforementioned project took place on the premises of the Rectorate on 28 February 2014.
Prof. Valerija Saula, the Vice Rector for international relations, welcomed the participants of the meeting, on behalf of Rector of the University of Banja Luka.
The objective of the BIHERIT Tempus project is to provide specialization for future experts in the field of Archeological and Museum Science as well as in the field of cultural heritage. The specialization is primarily related to undergraduate and graduate study programmes from the domains of Archeology, History, History of Art and other study programmes respectively, dealing with the preservation of cultural heritage, with a view to educating future museum experts, such as curators and conservators or university lecturers. The project partners are the universities from the four Member States (Slovenia, Austria, Germany and the UK) and three universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina (the University of Banja Luka, the University of Sarajevo and the University of Tuzla), the Commission to Preserve National Monuments in BiH, the Kozara Museum, the city of Prijedor and the Regional History Museum, the town of Travink. The carrier of the project is the University of Sarajevo.
