Learning objectives | ||||
Students will be introduce with machines and devices in various operations of mineral processing of mineral raw materials (crushing, screening, grinding, classification, gravity, magnetic, flotation and special concentration methods), as an continuation of the courses in the academic studies of the first cycle where the same machines and devices are studied. In addition to getting information about the constructive characteristics and principles of operation of machines and devices, students will also learn about the method of selection and calculation of these devices. | ||||

Students will be able for independent calculation and selection of machines and devices in various industrial operations of mineral processing of mineral raw materials. Also, students will be able to independently include in the operation of industrial plants for mineral processing and scientific and research work or to continue studies. | ||||

Basic characteristics and principle of work of basic and auxiliary machines and devices in the mineral processing. Machines and devices for ore comminution. Crushing. Crushers, classification, constructive characteristics, principles of work. Indicators of the crushing operation. Grinding. Mills, classification, grinding bodies, constructive characteristics, principles of work; grinding bodies. Indicators of the grinding operation. Machines and devices for classification in fluid of wather and air. Energy efficiency of comminution operation. Machines and devices in basic operations in mineral processing. Machines and devices in gravity, magnetic and flotation concentration processes. Machines and devices for special methods in mineral processing. Machines and devices for dewatering. Thickening devices. Filtering devices. Thermal drying devices.
