‘Fairnetzen’ stipend applicants met with the representatives of the FOM University
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn March 22, 2017, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, a meeting was held, gathering representatives of the University of Applied Science for Economics and Management, Essen, Germany, and the University of Banja Luka students who have applied for the ‘Fairnetzen’ stipends.
The aforementioned German university, better known for its acronym FOM (Fachhochschule für Oekonomie und Management), in cooperation with the ‘Fairnetzen’ foundation, is going to award 50 200-Euro single-shot stipends to I- and II-cycle students from all faculties of the University of Banja Luka, with the representatives of the FOM University having seized the opportunity to inform the applicants, 191 of them this year, about the stages to follow within the process of candidate selection.
Both hosts and guests addressed the students present, and Prof. Clemens Jäger, the Dean of the FOM University, said that he regretted the fact that not all of the applicants would be winners of the stipend, but added that he hoped they would not find the situation discouraging and that they would apply again the following year.
Pointing out their attitude that the priority in the selection process is reserved for students of lower socio-economic status, he said that all the applications were going to be thoroughly examined in the days to come, so that the results of the competition should be made public in the opening days of April, to be awarded by the end of that month or in the beginning of May.
