4th International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics held at International Burch University in Sarajevo
University of Banja LukaGeneralOn 9 May 2014, the 4th two-day International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics was opened, organised by International Burch University in Sarajevo.
This year, the Conference was dedicated to ''Teaching, acquiring and applying intercultural linguistic competence''. At the conference, a great number of experts from all over the world were gathered, and introductory lectures were given by professors from prestigious universities from the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Georgetown University (Alison Mackey), University of Michigan (Nick Ellis), University of Nottingham (Norbert Schmitt), University of California – San Diego (Ronald Langacker) and Harvard University (Steven Pinker).
Professors from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka also participated in the conference, and all the participants were greeted by Vice-Rector for international cooperation at the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Valerija Saula.
On this occasion, the Protocol on the international cooperation in education between Yildiz Technical University from Istanbul and the University of Banja Luka was signed. For more information on these partner universities, visit:
